CBT

Cognitive therapy for insomnia

What is CBTi?

CBT stands for "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy", which in Danish is called cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia. CBT is an effective treatment that can relieve insomnia - and maintain the effect.

The purpose of cognitive behavioral therapy is, among other things, to reduce thoughts and worries about sleep, which can be of great importance in maintaining poor sleep patterns.

CBT includes exercises within themes such as sleep restriction, sleep hygiene, stimulus control, deactivation and cognitive behavioral therapy. These exercises are effective in changing sleep habits, thoughts and ideas about sleep.

Hvorfor CBT?

Why CBT?

CBT is an effective, well-documented non-medical alternative for treating insomnia. It is recommended as first choice for the treatment of insomnia by relevant health authorities and organizations in the EU and USA. The challenge is to meet the extensive need among the population due to costs and a lack of trained therapists and psychologists.

Digitally delivered CBT

Digitally delivered CBT (dCBT) has been shown in a number of international and in a Danish study to be an effective solution to this challenge.

Insomnia is a widespread, but underdiagnosed and undertreated, problem with significant well-being and health-related consequences for the affected individuals. At the same time, insomnia has major socio-economic consequences.

Hvil® is a cost-effective, fully automated solution to help people who suffer from insomnia.

Hvil® is scalable and can thus reach many people who are affected by insomnia - at once.
