Hvil® in science

Hvil® has been developed in collaboration with leading sleep researchers and is included in scientific research trials.

Forskningsprojektet

Hvil® is part of the research project "Optimizing Digital Sleep Treatment" and originates from the Unit for Psychotherapy and Health Psychology (EPoS), Department of Psychology, Aarhus University.

The purpose of the research project is to investigate which parts of digital sleep treatment most effectively contribute to improved sleep quantity and quality. Identifying the parts (or components) of treatment that work most effectively helps to optimize the sleep treatment offered.

The purpose of the research project is to investigate which parts of digital sleep treatment most effectively contributes to improved sleep quantity and quality.

The digital sleep treatment that Hvil® offers is called cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia. This form of therapy consists of two or more cognitive and behavioral psychological components which are called sleep optimization, sleep hygiene, stimulus control, deactivation and cognitive therapy.

16 different programs are testet to investigate, which components are the most effective for treating insomnia. Each of the 16 programs consists of a new composition of the components.

Currently you can receive sleep therapy for free by signing up for the research project. When you are in sleep therapy, you get a course of 9 weeks consisting of daily activities. These daily activities are used to suggest changes in your sleeping habits, thought patterns and behaviour.
